Many of you have already been contacted and migrated to our new infrastructure, however this is still on going and our goal is to be complete in the next 2 to 3 months. The planning for this upgrade started in October 2015 and, like open heart surgery, we have to be meticulous and methodical so as to ensure little to zero impact to you. To achieve this our infrastructure team has been working day and mostly at night to accomplish this. Even though we plan for every possible scenario and even have a role back plan there are times where something doesn’t work or breaks due to the migration. We don’t take this lightly and for those clients who have already gone through the migration process as a team we do a post mortem and ensure wherever possible this doesn’t happen again. We appreciate your understanding and patience during this process and ultimately the end result is going to be better, faster more scalable hosted service offering.
As your hosted service provider of choice, we continuously scan and perform research to find better hardware, software, tools etc. we can leverage to make your experience with your hosted desktop an exceptional one. During the planning phase we take our findings into account and purchase and implement the ones that make sense. For this upgrade we have implemented a Storage Area Network (SAN) that is 5 times faster and has twice as much storage capacity than the previous one. We also implemented software that allows for more efficient backups of your data and environment and we are ultimately going to be moving you all to the latest version of Citrix and Exchange (Email). Once we have completed the entire upgrade the benefits to you will be:
- An overall increase in performance with your hosted desktop;
- Enhanced performance for Outlook;
- Significantly improved ability to watch HD videos and visit flash websites from your internet browser of choice within your hosted desktop;
- Quicker read and write speeds of your data;
- We are also hoping to see improved performance of legacy\older applications.
We are excited about this upgrade as it is going to be building on what we believe to be an already great hosted service offering and give us the ability to serve you even better, which is always our goal.
