Check to see if any of your web accounts (e.g. LinkedIn, Dropbox, Facebook, etc.) have been compromised in a data breach

When you sign up for an online service e.g. LinkedIn, Online Banking, Forbes Online Magazine, Facebook etc. one of the criteria to sign up is a username (usually your email address) and password. The email address and password are stored in the service provider’s databases. In the event the service provider data is breached, your username and password could be potentially compromised. Reputable service providers will alert all their users in the event they have a breach so that you can take action by changing your password immediately.

To check to see if your business and\or personal email addresses have been compromised navigate to haveibeenpwned.com.

If the results confirm your email address has been compromised, take appropriate action, and change your password for that website.
